LIFF Wiz-Art 2025: Results

From September 17 to 21, we hosted the 16th Lviv International Short Film Festival Wiz-Art. This year, we gathered under the theme “Balconies of Time,” exploring the experiences of war, memory, and recovery through the language of cinema.

We screened 58 films (both shorts and features), launched a film residency, and hosted three educational events. The team brought every plan to life, and here is how it looks in numbers:

  • Audience: 2,000 people came to watch films offline in Lviv, while another 5,392 tuned in from their couches online via Megogo. That is a total of 7,392 viewers.
  • Venues: Comfort and respect came first — all festival locations were fully accessible and inclusive.
  • Residency: 11 young directors were taken under the wing of experienced mentors and finalized their own short films.
  • Beyond Cinema: We held three educational events. We listened to a lecture by cinematographer Les Leskov, caught up with Antonio Lukich, and threw a daytime party styled after 1960s apartment gatherings.
  • Fundraiser: We raised 85,312 UAH for the rehabilitation of military personnel via AZOV.ONE.
  • Media: The festival was featured in the press 39 times, and we reached 165,000 people across social media and news outlets.

What’s next?

The 17th Wiz-Art will take place on September 22–27, 2026. We are planning larger-scale events with a lineup of 150 short films and 5 features. It’s going to be a blast, and we can’t wait to see you there!
