National Competition #3 Wiz-Art 2026

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF TATARIN // 22′, Artem Iurchenko, Ukraine, 2026

In eastern Ukraine, a group of newly mobilized men arrives at the training grounds of the 225th Assault Regiment. Only weeks earlier, they were living ordinary civilian lives. Now they must learn to carry weapons, move as a unit, obey orders, endure cold, exhaustion, mud, fear, and adapt to the unfamiliar language of war. At first, they are little more than strangers brought together by circumstance.

EASTER DAY // 17′, Mykola Zasieiev, France, Ukraine, 2025

On Easter Sunday in Kyiv, two soldiers from the army recruitment office drive slowly through the streets, watching men who might be called to serve. Their search leads them to a young man who has stepped out only to buy food for his cat. He may try to avoid their gaze, but yet on this holy day, nothing is as simple as it first appears.
