ABout WIz-ART
Wiz-Art is an art organization that brings films from around the world to Ukrainian audience and introduces Ukrainian cinema to the world. Its main event is the annual Lviv International Film Festival Wiz-Art.
The first Wiz-Art Festival took place in 2008. It all began with a few friends dreaming of watching meaningful and legal films. At the time, cinemas in Lviv screened only mainstream movies, while film clubs showing more interesting works did so mostly without official permission.
The first festival had a small audience, but the team was persistent, organizing the event year after year and keeping the community engaged through monthly screenings.
Wiz-Art’s main mission is to develop cinema both locally and across Ukraine, and to promote Ukrainian film within the European and global context. We believe that high-quality cultural products spark positive change and help society grow.
We seek out films that help cultivate taste and expand consciousness – our own and that of our viewers. Our content is fresh, smart, high-quality, and vibrant films from around the globe.
Our audience is made up of people who want to know more, understand the world better, and form their own opinions.
