On May 21 at 11 a.m. in the small session hall of Lviv City Council (1, Plosha Rynok) an official press conference of the 8th Lviv International Short Film Festival Wiz-Art will be held.
The competition program of this year’s Wiz-Art Festival consists of more than 80 short films from around the world which will compete for the Grand Prix, as well as awards in the following categories “Best Director”, “Best Script” and “Best Cinematography.” Additional awards will be given to Best Ukrainian Short Film and Audience Award.
Educational block of the festival Wiz-Art Film School consists of lectures, Q&A sessions, meetings and workshops with festival guests.
Press registration will take place prior to the press conference in a small session hall of Lviv City Council.
On May 21 at 7 p.m in Kinopalace the opening ceremony of the 8th Lviv International Short Film Festival Wiz-Art will take place.
There will be a short film screening as well as a performance of Sasha Boole.

Marysya Nikityuk. Presentation of an author screenwriting course
Marysya Nikityuk is a scriptwriter, director and critic. She is an author of the scripts to the short films called GAUDI, ALCOHOLIC , DEATH ANGEL, MANDRAGORA. Also she is a co-founder of the international drama festival “The week of an actual play” and a contributor to “SHO”, “Timeout”, “Ukrainian week” magazines.
During the Wiz-Art Film School Marysya will present her author course on screenwriting skills which will be held in Lviv during July 2015. What does one need to know and do to write a good script which can be turned into a movie later on? What is a structure of a script, where to get inspiration from and, later, money for the realisation of one’s idea and, finally, who is a screenwriter. Marysya will give the answer to these and other questions during the course the details of which will be made more clear in the presentation by the author herself.

Secret Avenue is a new wave, indie band formed in Kyiv in 2012. Influenced by the 70s-80s culture their music is intermixed with the elements of electropop and guitar indie rock and filled with night sparkling tunes. Throughout 2014 the band played at the biggest Ukrainian festivals such as Jazz Koktebel and Gogolfest, released their debut EP “Sirens” and single “Happiness” critically acclaimed as of the best releases of 2014 in Ukraine. After the first tour covering eight cities of Ukraine in spring 2015, Secret Avenue is to continue working on the LP record, to perform at the leading local festivals (such as Faine Misto) and to tour Europe and the world.

He graduated from the University of Applied Arts Vienna in 2006 where he studied with Peter Weibel, Karel Dudesek, and Tom Fürstner. Additional education at the Academy of Arts, Architecture, and Design Prague, conceptual art studio Jiří David. Schwarz’s projects mainly emerge out of self-involved set-ups, in which he blends fact and fiction into humorous narratives that can find their respective formal shape in performance, installations and short film, and have been shown at exhibitions and film festivals internationally.

Anatoliy Lavrenishyn is Ukrainian graphic artist and Director of animated films. When Anatoliy was 6 years old, he saw a cartoon about magical reindeer and interested, as hand-drawn pictures can move. Since this all began. In 2011 he founded the animation Studio “Marcus Movie” in Ukraine.
His animated films have participated in festivals – ROTTERDAM IFF (Netherlands), Annecy IAFF (France), Golden Hourse IFF (Taiwan), Clermont-Ferrand IFF (France), etc.
Anatoly reveals the secrets of movie making THE SHOP of SONG BIRDS and talk about the symbiosis of creativity and new technical possibilities in animation by analyzing their films.

Guy Lichtenstein is a screenwriter and director. He was born in Tel Aviv where he grew up. He studied film theory in the University of Tel Aviv and spent a year in the Sam Spiegel Film and Television School in Jerusalem. Since 2010 he has been studying in the Filmacademy Vienna where he gains experience from a famous director and scriptwriter Michael Haneke and shoots films.

24 травня о 23:00 в клубі Underground (Коперника 17) відбудеться вечірка з нагоди закриття Восьмого львівського міжнародного фестивалю короткометражних фільмів WIZ-ART
Alexander Krolikowski & и Alexandra Krolikowska (вони також Plasticfantasic and Electric Psychedelic Pyssycat, також Squirrel Institute) – одні з найбільш таємничих представників авангардної сцени. Декілька років тому тому дует можна було почути на кримських open-air, потім став резидентом Palace Club в Гоа.
Проте після відвідання індійського міста Варанасі поведінка дуету різько змінилася, і з музичних виступів зникла будь-яка послідовность і логіка. Якщо до того на кримських фестивалях і в Гоа дует грав Techno-Trance і J-Core, то зараз андрогін, який живе в двох тілах (саме так кличуть себе учасники дуета) не визнає кордонів стилю.
Нікому невідомо, що відбудеться наступним разом: можливо, це буде мрачний сінті-панк, натхненний містиками з Can, а може, електронно – музичний перфоманс, чи легкий и повітряний DJ-set. Схоже на те, що Олександр и Олександра керуються принципами, які тримають в строгому секреті, не звертаючи уваги на диявольські спокуси шоу-бізнесу.
